Staff Biographies

Thomas E. Meyer
FCAS, MAAA

Mr. Meyer has over eleven years of property/casualty actuarial consulting experience and is one of the founding members of Select Actuarial Services.  He provides expert consulting services to a wide range of Select clients helping them maintain and design strong risk management programs.  He has experience with many different lines of business in the property and casualty arena, including workers compensation, auto liability, auto physical damage, general liability, property, directors & officers, public officials liability, and professional liability.  His experience with these lines includes reserve analyses, loss forecasting, probability analyses, rate level analyses, large loss modeling, and capital adequacy analyses.   Mr. Meyer is an industrious and detail oriented individual, who has the responsibility for the day to day management of projects for some of Select’s largest clients, one of which is the American Red Cross.  In addition to consulting, Mr. Meyer keeps Select Actuarial Services running smoothly and efficiently by serving as Network Administrator.

Mr. Meyer has a keen interest in modeling, and in 2008 participated in the Casualty Actuarial Society limited attendance seminar on Reserve Variability

Prior to forming Select Actuarial Services Mr. Meyer worked for Sedgwick Actuarial Services as an actuarial analyst. 

Mr. Meyer obtained Associateship in the CAS in 2005 and his Fellowship in 2007, and has served on the CAS Examination Committee.  He is also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
